Yard cleanup in West Berlin.
West Berlin, ZIP 08091, is the Berlin Township area on NJ Scatman's confirmed coverage list. Berlin Township and Berlin Borough are separate municipalities: the township's own master plan describes it as sitting at the center of Camden County, bordered by Voorhees to the north, Evesham and Waterford to the east, Berlin Borough to the south and Lindenwold to the west. Check your service address and municipality instead of relying on a road name or a nearby attraction.

Choose a recurring yard cleanup weekly, every other week or twice weekly, or request a one-time visit. We confirm the price and schedule directly after your estimate. Berlin Township's own pet-waste ordinance also matters outside the yard: it requires immediate disposal on property the owner or keeper does not own or possess, and addresses odor-producing accumulation at home.

Fenced dog parks near West Berlin
No official source we found lists a dog park inside Berlin Township, so plan on a short drive. Voorhees, the township's northern neighbor, has two enclosed runs for large and small dogs at Connolly Park on Centennial Boulevard. Camden County's Timber Creek Dog Park, in Blackwood at Chews Landing Road and Taylor Avenue, is 9 fenced acres in the woods. Check each park's current notices before you go.

Walking in county parks
Camden County's park regulations require dogs on county park land to be on a leash no longer than six feet. Owners must immediately remove and dispose of droppings. Except for seeing-eye and helper dogs, pets are not allowed on county playgrounds, paved paths, courts or play fields. Those rules cover county parks such as Berlin Park, in neighboring Berlin Borough, not the township's own parks.
Local pickup rules
Berlin Township Code §87-35
The township's published Chapter 87, Article V requires immediate proper disposal of pet waste deposited on public or private property not owned or possessed by the keeper. It also says animal feces must not accumulate on owned or occupied property to the extent that odor is noticeable to an adjoining property owner. A scheduled cleanup does not replace immediate pickup when walking off your property. The linked municipal PDF contains the complete article, including its assistance-animal exemption.

Dispose of the bag, not just the mess
The article's disposal definition specifically excludes placement in a storm drain and putting unwrapped feces in a trash can. The township's 2025 pet-waste flyer offers two ways to dispose of it: flush the waste down the toilet without the bag, or put it in the trash. The municipal PDF is a published copy printed in 2019; consult Berlin Township for the current authoritative rule if you need legal guidance.

Control and licensing
The township's property-maintenance page says no animal may run at large, and animals on township streets and public ways must be under the owner's immediate control. The same page says any dog or cat 7 months or older needs a rabies vaccination and a license from the Township Clerk.

Four watersheds
Berlin Township's 2025 pet-waste flyer explains that rain, melting snow and ice carry pet waste to storm drains that empty into rivers, lakes and the ocean. Camden County's 2004 open space plan lists Kettle Run among the township's streams and places the township in four watersheds: Big Timber Creek, the Great Egg Harbor River, the Mullica River and Rancocas Creek. The township's 2023 master plan reexamination records particular concern for the headwaters of the Mullica and Great Egg Harbor rivers. The county plan also places the county's highest groundwater recharge mostly in the Mullica River watershed in Waterford Township and in Berlin Township near the Voorhees border. Keep bags and loose waste out of storm drains.

1927: the Borough splits off
The township reached its current size, 3.34 square miles, in 1927, when part of it became Berlin Borough after a referendum earlier that year. That split is why Berlin Township and Berlin Borough are separate municipalities today.
